The man seen hiking a rural trail in the Florida Panhandle was not Brian Laundrie after all, deputies in Okaloosa County said today, meaning the person of interest in the Gabby Petito case remains missing.

One of the last times Gabby Petito was seen alive involved an explosive argument between Brian Laundrie and wait staff at a Jackson Hole restaurant, according to a New Orleans couple who said they witnessed the spat.

Closing arguments have begun in the sex trafficking trial of R&B singer R. Kelly. Prosecutors told jurors that they'd proved that Kelly for years got associates to help him target, groom and exploit girls, boys, and young women for his own sexual gratification. Kelly has vehemently denied the allegations.

The FBI confirmed Tuesday that the remains found over the weekend in Grand Teton National Park were those of Gabrielle "Gabby" Petito, the Florida woman who went missing during a cross-country trip with her fiancé.

Gov. Ron DeSantis has directed all state agencies to help hunt down Brian Laundrie, the person of interest in the Gabby Petito case.

Teton County Coroner Dr. Brent Blue confirmed that the remains discovered in the Bridger-Teton National Forest are that of Gabby Petito.

A lawyer for R. Kelly has told a judge that the R&B singer is unlikely to take the witness stand at his sex-trafficking trial. Closing arguments could begin as early as Wednesday afternoon.

'I think the male took the female’s phone,' the witness reported.

The search for Brian Laundrie moved from a swampy Sarasota preserve back to the home he shares with his family Monday. FBI agents spent most of the day searching the home, filling police vehicles with evidence, and speaking with his parents. 

A Tampa family traveling across the country notified the FBI that they had video of what appeared to be Gabby Petito's camper van at Spread Creek's camping ground near Grand Teton. The following day, Gabby's possible remains were located by the FBI in the same area.

"New York is itching to end this mosquito problem and we are going to provide the dollars so we can scratch that itch," Schumer said.

After days of searching for Gabby, the FBI said they found remains that match the 22-year-old's description. An autopsy is scheduled Tuesday.
