Kissimmee residents rush to get valuables from homes as water levels rise

As a mandatory evacuation is enforced at a retirement village in Kissimmee, deputies are closing roads as the water level continues to rise. Osceola County officials are warning residents along Shingle Creek, Reedy Creek and Boggy Creek to leave their homes as the water rises.

The National Guard spent the day in Kissimmee rescuing people of all ages in different neighborhoods. The Kissimmee City manager says, areas like North Kissimmee by Central and Columbia Avenue. And the west side of town, by Woodside, Osceola High and Shingle Creek were affected.

Florida school board members concerned about process to ban books

-Osceola school board members will be reading all four books and making a decision on whether or not to ban them from school libraries. This after a book review committee voted to keep them. Board members were concerned the committee's process was not fair.
