Bus drivers gear up for 1st day of school

School bus drivers across Central Florida are doing one last test drive before students join them tomorrow morning for the first day of school. Despite the nationwide bus driver shortage, Seminole County officials said they are fully staffed and ready for students.

Permission slips for nicknames, pronouns

If a child has a nickname and is attending school in Orange County, parents will be required to fill out special forms. It is a result of legislation passed earlier this year.

Florida Department of Education to College Board: 'Stop playing games'

The College Board said Thursday that the Florida Department of Education banned AP Psychology in the state due to sexual orientation and gender identity curriculum concerns – a stipulation of Gov. Ron DeSantis' new legislation that bans the instruction of these topics in elementary, middle and high schools.
