Texas DPS says that Uvalde County DA Christina Mitchell-Busbee has objected to the release of a 77-minute video of the hallway outside the Robb Elementary School classroom prior to the breach.

Mayor Don McLaughlin is disputing the report, which says there were missed opportunities to stop the gunman who killed 21 people and injuring 17 others.

Also according to the report, officers spent 13 minutes in the school hallway during the shooting discussing tactical options, whether to use snipers and how to get into the classroom windows -- all while the door was unlocked.

“They told us that she’s a big KF fan and her family had planned to come see us play this weekend before the shooting occurred. She was very sad that they couldn’t attend the show.”

Pete Arredondo has been on administrative leave from his Uvalde CISD position since June 22.

A Uvalde mother who was handcuffed as she tried to run by police outside Robb Elementary School, but eventually got free and rescued her kids, is now being harassed by police after speaking out about the ordeal, her lawyer said this week. 

The legislation will toughen background checks for the youngest gun buyers, keep firearms from more domestic violence offenders and help states put in place red flag laws that make it easier for authorities to take weapons from people judged to be dangerous.

The Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District has announced that police chief Pete Arredondo has been placed on administrative leave.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director Steven McCraw ripped into the Uvalde school police chief's handling of last month's shooting at Robb Elementary School and said that some officers wanted to approach the gunman earlier, including a school district police officer whose wife was killed in the massacre. 

The Uvalde school shooting timeline shows it took 74 minutes from when police went into the school to the time they confronted and killed the gunman. Throughout that time, unknown officers are reported rejecting DPS Special Agents' calls to go into the classroom, saying, "Don't you think we should have a supervisor approve that?"

Senators have moved to the brink of an agreement on a bipartisan gun violence bill, meaning a vote could happen later this week.

The information is to be presented to a public Texas Senate hearing in Austin on Tuesday. Investigators say the latest information indicates officers had more than enough firepower and protection to take down the gunman long before they finally did, the outlets reported.

Two Uvalde city police officers passed up a fleeting chance to shoot a gunman outside Robb Elementary School before he went on to kill 21 people inside the school, a senior sheriff's deputy told The New York Times.

"This is and was about gun responsibility," the video began. "Camila and I met with over 30 members across both parties. We met with leaders of the Senate, the House and the president."
