Fournier takes over late as Magic beat Nets 118-111

Nikola Vucevic had 21 points and 10 rebounds in his return to the lineup, Evan Fournier also scored 21 and the Orlando Magic beat the Brooklyn Nets 118-111 on Friday night to snap their six-game home losing streak.

Fournier scored 11 straight points in the final 2:26, going 8 for 8 from the free throw line after the teams were tied at 106.

In a game that had been close throughout, Orlando made the big shots down the stretch to pull away.

Serge Ibaka had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and D.J. Augustin scored 17 for the Magic, who shot 40 percent from the field.

Brook Lopez had 22 points and five blocked shots for the Nets before fouling out with 20.1 seconds to play.

Brooklyn has lost eight straight on the road.

Orlando's slim halftime advantage quickly turned into a nine-point deficit as Lopez and Bojan Bogdanovic went into attack mode. Not only did their aggressiveness give the Nets the lead, they got the Magic's interior players in foul trouble as Ibaka and Bismack Biyombo each picked up their fourth foul in the third quarter.

Emotions ran hot in the third as the Magic were called for four technicals, on Elfrid Payton, Fournier, Vucevic and coach Frank Vogel.

Nets coach Kenny Atkinson also was given a technical in the third for arguing a call.

But with Vucevic leading the way on both ends of the floor, Orlando recovered and took an 83-82 lead into the fourth.

Vucevic missed the previous three games with a lower back injury.

After struggling to find an offensive flow throughout much of the first half, the Magic made a run in the final 5 minutes to take a 53-52 lead into halftime. Orlando outscored the Nets 12-4 during that stretch to wipe away a deficit that was eight points at one time.
