Hannah Mackenzie is a two-time Emmy award-winning journalist and regional Edward R. Murrow award-winner. She joined FOX 35 Orlando in October 2023.
She is thrilled to be part of the FOX 35 News team, and back in sunny Florida!
Although she may seem like the ‘girl next door’, Hannah is actually the girl from across the pond. Born in Scotland, the UK native proudly became an American citizen after her family immigrated to Houston, Texas in 1998. Space City quickly turned Hannah into an Astros fan – go Stros!
She graduated from the University of Texas in 2013 with a bachelors degree in journalism (Hook 'em) – and still cheers on the Horns.
She has reported in McAllen, Texas, near the U.S.-Mexico border, where she covered the humanitarian crisis, drug and human smuggling, cartel violence, and border security; Pensacola, Florida, where she covered the impacts of Hurricane Michael (2018); Houston, Texas; Asheville, North Carolina; and now Central Florida.
While in Asheville, Hannah earned two Emmy Awards for her coverage of Tropical Storm Fred (2021).
Outside of work, you can find Hannah wrangling her 90-pound Labrador retriever, Cruze, or binging the latest Netflix show with her cat, Louis. She enjoys exercising, and looks forward to exploring all that Central Florida has to offer.
If you see her out and about, be sure to say hello!
