What do you love about journalism?
I love that every day looks different—you have the opportunity to tell stories ranging from a local land development that affects your morning commute to a fun event you can check out over the weekend. Journalism fulfills the side of me that constantly wants to learn and be creative. Storytelling is deeply personal. On any given day, you aren't just informing someone; you might actually be changing their life.
What are some of your favorite stories to tell?
I always enjoy getting the chance to share what new local businesses are doing or what new developments are coming to Central Florida. The region is so vast, and it's exciting to see how the community continues to grow and accommodate itself. Coming from an immigrant family, I also appreciate opportunities to highlight how different communities celebrate their culture and heritage.
Outside the newsroom, Emily enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new food, relaxing by the water, indoor rock climbing, and attending live music events.
