Deborah Choe joined the FOX 35 team in July 2022 as a weekend co-anchor and reporter. She recently joined Good Day Orlando as the show's morning traffic anchor and reporter.
From Disneyland to Walt Disney World, the southern California native is very excited to be in the sunshine state!
She graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Television and Broadcast Journalism. After graduation, she decided she wanted an adventure, and the Midwest was calling.
Deborah came to Central Florida from Columbia, Missouri where she was the Evening Anchor/Investigative reporter for KMIZ. While there, she covered an EF3 tornado that tore through the capital city, a former governor’s scandal that eventually led to his resignation, Former President Donald Trump’s visit to Columbia, along with First Lady Jill Biden’s visit to the area.
During her time, she was awarded an Edward R. Murrow for her investigative work looking into a school district’s lack of fire drills. Deborah was also recognized by the Missouri Broadcaster’s Association as Best News Anchor and Best Investigative Reporting.
Deborah is a Korean American and is part of the Asian American Journalists Association. She loves getting involved in the community, and wants to continue to shine a spotlight on Asian Americans and their contributions to society.
Being closer to family in Florida was a huge draw for Deborah coming to the sunshine state. She is looking forward to exploring what Orlando and the surrounding areas have to offer. She is excited about covering central Florida news. Give her a buzz if you have any tips for her!
