Winter storm brings erosion to Ormond Beach

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Beach access at Andy Romano Beachfront Park in Ormond Beach is closed due to erosion.
It's all thanks to last week's winter storm.  

Officials say there has been rough beach conditions.  Several feet of sand is now gone in this area.
Surfers tell us they have mixed emotions.

"It's kinda creating some good sand bars for surfing so that's good but as for the plants and stuff on the shoreline it put some devastation in there," said surger Tino Salim. 

Some walkovers are also closed. That's because there's now a huge drop from the last step to the sand.  No word when the beach access will open.
