WINTER PARK, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A woman suspected of killing her husband, who was a professor at the University of Central Florida, is due in court on Monday.
45-year-old Danielle Redlick is scheduled to have a hearing on Monday. Police said that she stabbed her husband, Michael Redlick, to death inside their Winter Park home in January.
Police said that Redlick originally claimed that Michael had a heart attack, but then she changed her story and said that he actually stabbed himself. She also waited 11 hours before calling police to tell them about his death. She waited because she was scared, on probation, and exhausted.
Court records show that Danielle Redlick filed for divorce from her husband last March, but she later withdrew and they never got divorced.
Danielle faces charges of second-degree murder with a weapon and tampering with evidence. Her trial is set for June.
Michael Redlick was the director of external affairs and partnership relations for the DeVos Sport Business Management Program at UCF. He had previously worked for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Cleveland Browns and Memphis Grizzlies.
