Alligator versus a snake! That's the fight a husband and wife witnessed in their Florida backyard. Sean O'Malley told FOX 35 News they have lived in the Nocatee area for eight years and have seen many wild animals – but never a gator attacking a snake.

Move over, Florida Man. You had a wild year in 2023, but so did the sharks, bears, snakes, alligators, crocodiles, and other wildlife that call the Sunshine State home.

A Florida woman captured an incredible video of an alligator enjoying a large python for an afternoon snack, garnering the attention of multiple people on social media. Katina Boychew said she was visiting the Florida Everglades last week when she spotted the alligator in the marsh chomping down on the snake. At one point in the video, the gator could be seen triumphantly, body-slamming his meal.

Bear steals family's White Claws

A three-legged black bear, affectionately known by Florida locals as "Tripod," managed to break into a Lake Mary home through a screened-in lanai in the backyard. The bear then hilariously accessed her outdoor refrigerator and helped itself to three of her White Claw hard seltzer beverages. 

It's not the bear's first encounter. He's actually one of three three-legged bears being tracked in Central Florida, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

3-legged bear breaks into Florida home

A Lake Mary mother was shocked to find a 3-legged Black bear had broken into her home – while her 13-year-old son was at the residence alone with the family dog. Josaury Faneite Diglio shared multiple videos with FOX 35 News showing the bear limping in her driveway and later near her pool.

Weeks after the alcohol encounter, "Tripod" found himself sniffing around another home's backyard.

Two people were bitten by sharks on the same Volusia County beach on Labor Day, according to officials. One woman was bitten in the foot, while a man was bitten in the hand.

Back in September, two people were both bitten at the same Volusia County beach within 24 hours, officials said. Both are expected to recover.

Bear steals Uber Eats order off front porch

An Orlando-area family had their food delivery stolen off their front porch by a black bear, and the whole incident was caught on camera. The video shows an Uber Eats delivery driver dropping off the food on Nov. 3. Minutes later, a black bear saunters up and grabs $45 worth of Taco Bell. That dinner was meant for Laidy Gutierrez and Daniel Bula. Their niece, Nicole Castro, said she couldn’t believe her eyes when she watched the footage.

Video taken by Chris Barron shows a black bear walking out of the ocean next to beachgoers at a beach in Destin Sunday. Chris Barron told Storyful the bear was swimming right beside his 12-year-old son and Chris’s brother.
