Wekiva high school was briefly placed on a lockdown on Friday morning due to a report of a student with a possible weapon on campus, police say.

Orange County Sheriff deputies were on scene and one student has been placed into custody.

The lockdown began after a verbal threat was made from one student to another, police say.

The lockdown was lifted after deputies cleared the school and did not find a weapon. Classes have resumed for the day.
