HERNANDO COUNTY, Fla. - The Grinch spent a night in the Hernando County jail – well – sort of, after deputies staged a playful skit about driving under the influence over the weekend.
In a humorous public service announcement (PSA) video shared on social media, Florida deputies pulled over the infamous character for suspected DUI after observing him swerving on the road.
When asked if he had been drinking, the Grinch confessed to having "at least two cups of eggnog." As he stepped out of the vehicle for a field sobriety exercise, several red cups, however, fell to the ground.

After stretching theatrically and failing to walk in a straight line, the Grinch admitted to being drunk and was promptly handcuffed.
While the arrest was just a staged skit, it carries an important message for the community: don’t drink and drive.
"Remember, this holiday season we want everybody to be safe on the roadways. So drive sober, or spend a night in the Hernando County jail," Sheriff Al Nienhuis said at the end of the video.
As of Monday afternoon, the video had garnered over 1,500 interactions, more than 100 comments, and over 300 shares.
