Volusia County School Board approves mask mandate
VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. - The Volusia County School Board has approved a mask mandate following a lengthy emergency meeting on Tuesday night in which parents for both sides of the issue aired out their grievances.
The emergency meeting was called after at least 13 Florida counties have implemented a mask mandate without an opt-out provision.
The mandate will go into effect on Tuesday, Sept. 7, the day after Labor Day, and will continue through Friday, Oct. 15.
