Volusia County introduces new beach parking fees, sparking concerns over accessibility
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Volusia County’s new beach parking program is now in effect, ending free off-beach parking at designated lots. Visitors must now pay $20 daily or $100 annually for parking, with signs marking "Pay Upon Arrival" areas.
Some beachgoers are unhappy with the change.

"I think it’s a bummer… The beach should be accessible to everybody, and paying for it adds a layer of inaccessibility," said regular visitor Dana Marie Roquemore.
Volusia County residents can park for free at all 65 designated lots with a "Park Volusia Permit."
Permits can be obtained at ParkVolusia.org.
