Virginia Amber Alert: 3 children hospitalized after pursuit, serious crash in Maryland

The three children that were the focus of an Amber Alert after they were abducted from a home in Virginia Beach have been hospitalized after a police pursuit ended in a serious crash in Maryland.

Virginia State Police issued the alert early Thursday morning after 5-year-old Zayir Plummer, 7-year-old Zayin Plummer, and 16-month-old Zariyah Plummer were taken from a home on Jay Are Court Wednesday night by their father, 36-year-old Dana Demetrius Plummer.

Police say prior to the abduction, Plummer stabbed the mother of the children and another young girl. He then took the children and fled in a black 2024 Honda Passport SUV with temporary plates 37550R.

Virginia State Police officials say they received a call from a tipster who recognized the vehicle. They began pursuing the vehicle just after 8:45 a.m. Thursday after spotting it on northbound Interstate 95 near mile marker 166 in Fairfax County.
