Virginia Aquarium releases rescued sea turtles
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Virginia Aquarium released four rescued sea turtles back into the wild Monday morning.
The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center’s Stranding Response Team released the turtles from Virginia Beach near 31st Street.
Grinch, a juvenile green sea turtle, Tamarind, a juvenile loggerhead sea turtle, Inchworm, a juvenile Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, and Aquamarine, another juvenile Kemp’s ridley sea turtle, were released as a crowd cheered for them.
The four turtles were rescued, rehabilitated and cared for by aquarium staff.
