Virgin Mary statue stolen from DeLand home
DELAND, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A family in DeLand is upset after a treasured statue was taken form their home.
Mary Walker says her 3-foot statue of the Virgin Mary was given to her by her children 23 years ago. It sat outside their house on a concrete slab, until last week, when a thief stole the statue.
Walker put a sign in her yard on North Clara Avenue that reads, "Thief, please return our Mary Statue. It was a gift from my children."
She is hoping someone will bring back the statute. No questions asked.
