ORLANDO, Fla. - It is tough to enjoy the water park when temperatures dip into the 30s and 40s, no matter how much sun is shining. As a wave of arctic air sweeps across Central Florida, several of the theme park water parks have temporarily closed.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the 30s and 40s, near freezing in some spots, Monday night, Tuesday night, and through Wednesday morning.
Water parks at Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando will be closed for parts of this week.
Universal's Volcano Bay
Universal's Volcano Bay water park will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, Dec. 3 & 4, the theme park announced on its social media pages.
Walt Disney World Resort's Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon
Walt Disney World's Blizzard Beach water park will be closed through Monday - Wednesday, Dec. 2-4, according to the resort's online calendar. It is slated to reopen at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 5.
Typhoon Lagoon is currently closed. Typically, Disney has been operating one of its water parks at a time, alternating between Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
Aquatica Orlando
Aquatica, SeaWorld Orlando's water park, is closed Monday, Dec. 2, due to the weather, a spokesperson confirmed to FOX 35. It wasn't immediately clear if the water park would be closed Tuesday or Wednesday.
