Orlando man wanted in connection to Sanford double shooting in custody, police say
SANFORD, Fla. - Update (Aug. 12, 2024): Sanford Police said Monday that Santana Sutton turned himself into the WInter Haven Police Department. He was booked into jail on charges of attempted second degree murder, armed burglary with a battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, police said.
Police said Santana showed up to his ex-girlfriend's apartment Sunday morning. At some point, there was an argument or fight and shots were fired. Santana allegedly ran away. Two people were found with gunshot wounds.

Sanford police are searching for an Orlando man who is accused of shooting two people early Saturday morning.
Santana Sutton, 51, is accused of shooting Lakechia Jackson and James Williams outside her apartment complex on Barewood Lane. The incident happened around 7:30 a.m. when police responded to the area and found Jackson and James with gunshot wounds, police said.
An altercation happened when Sutton arrived at Jackson's apartment on Saturday. Sutton fled the area following the shooting. He also has a prior arrest warrant unrelated to this incident, police said.
