BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - Two men in Brevard County were arrested for stealing hundreds of gallons of gas with fraudulent money.
The Brevard County Sheriff's Office said that they arrested 28-year-old Osmail Perez and 22-year-old Luis Galup of Orlando for using fraudulent credit cards to steal hundreds of gallons of fuel.
The arrest occurred after deputies said that they observed the pair in separate vehicles, pumping a large amount of fuel at two different gas stations.
Deputies detained both the drivers and vehicle and discovered that each of the vehicles contained unlawful fuel bladders that were concealed in the vehicles.
Perez reportedly drove a Ford F-250 truck carrying a fuel bladder that contained about 300 gallons of gas. He was found in possession of 27 fraudulent credit and reward cards. Galup reportedly drove a Dodge Sprinter van equipped with a fuel bladder containing about 200 gallons of diesel fuel. He was also in possession of fraudulent gift cards.
Both Perez and Galup were transported to the Brevard County Jail, where they charged with Unlawful Conveyance of Fuel. Perez is being held on $3,000 bond. Galup, who was also charged with resisting arrest without violence, is being held on a $3,500 bond.
The Sheriff's Office said that this investigation is ongoing with additional charges pending for the possession and criminal use of another person’s personal information.
