WASHINGTON - Supporters of Donald Trump’s war against the NFL and kneeling protests by its players during the national anthem may be interested in this new item being sold on a Trump merchandising site – a “Stand Up For America” football jersey.
The red uniform, which is going for $99, sports the “Stand Up For America” lettering in white and blue along with the number 45 on the front and back in honor of the 45th President of the United States. Trump is sewn on the back shoulder area of the jersey and there is also an embroidered American flag on the sleeve. The site also makes sure to note that the jersey is "Proudly Made in the USA."
Sizes ranging from small to 3XL for men and up to 2XL for women are available on a website run by the Trump Make America Great Again Committee, a joint fundraising committee composed of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and the Republican National Committee.
“Our theme originated out of President Trump’s love for the American flag and his fervent belief that Americans should always stand for our National Anthem,” Lara Trump, senior adviser for Donald J. Trump for President Inc., told the New York Post.
The newspaper also reports that the Trump jersey was made available for sale on Sept. 7, one day after the NFL season kicked off and also after Nike introduced Colin Kaepernick as one of the faces of its “Just Do It” 30th anniversary campaign.
