Tropical Storm Phillipe formed in the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday, becoming the 16th named storm of the 2023 Atlantic hurricane season.
As of 11 p.m. Saturday, the storm was about 1,125 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. It is traveling west at 14 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest advisory.

"A continued westwardmotion at a slightly slower forward speed is expected into earlynext week," the NHC said.
There are no hazards impacting land nor any costal watches or warnings issued, the NHC said.
