ORLANDO, Fla. - Tropical Storm Margot formed Thursday and is expected to strengthen into a hurricane over the early next week, the National Hurricane Center said in its 11 a.m. update on Friday.
Tropical Storm Margot is located about 970 miles west-northwest of the Cape Verde Islands with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph. It's moving west-northwest at 17 mph.
The NHC said Margot is expected to continue moving west-northwest over the next few days before eventually strengthening into a hurricane next week.
There are no coastal watches or warnings.
