Overturned tractor trailer on I-75 in Ocala

A tractor trailer overturned while driving northbound on I-75 in Ocala on Tuesday morning, officials said.

Two separate car crashes and a third traffic incident are causing delays on I-75 in both directions Tuesday.

Shortly after 6 a.m. Tuesday, officials were called to I-75 northbound near exit 352 where they found two single-vehicle crashes, according to a spokesperson from the Ocala Fire Department.

One crash involved a pick-up truck hauling a moving trailer and the other involved a semi-truck. No apparent injuries happened from either crash, but there was damage to the guardrail along I-75, officials said.

Two hours later, officials were dispatched to I-75 again – this time, on the southbound lanes. A jackknifed semi-truck was found with a pick-up truck on its roof on Highway 27's overpass at exit 354.

The driver of the pick-up truck was ejected from the vehicle and trauma units were called to the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital and their current condition is unknown.

The semi-truck driver did not report any injuries.

Officials said drivers should avoid the area and seek alternate routes since traffic is impacted in both directions on I-75 at this time.
