Severe weather brings heavy rain, lightning
A strong line of storms moved over Central Florida on Tuesday bringing heavy rain and spectacular displays of lightning.
ORLANDO, Fla. - Storms that passed over Central Florida on Tuesday evening packed a punch as there were reports of torrential rain, lightning, hail, and even a tornado.
A tornado warning was issued for Seminole and Volusia counties shortly after 7 p.m. after radar indicated a possible tornado near Lake Mary that was heading to the northeast. That same storm cell prompted a severe thunderstorm warning over the Osteen and Geneva communities. At about the same time, FOX 35 weather cameras detected heavy rain and lightning at Orlando Sanford International Airport.

Severe thunderstorms slammed parts of Seminole and Volusia counties Tuesday night. Here is a look at how intense the rainfall and lightning were from the FOX 35 live weather camera at Orlando Sanford International Airport.
Most of the watches and warnings had expired by 9 p.m. though flood advisories are still in effect for parts of the region. The worst of the weather moved off the Atlantic Coast by 10 p.m.

Mixed skies and warm, muggy conditions are expected at the attractions. Highs will be near 88, rain chances reach a peak of 70%+ after 2 p.m. this afternoon.
OUTLOOK:
Tropical moisture will rise to begin the week which will lead to the return of daily storm chances. Scattered to even numerous afternoon storms will be likely all week long. Typical hazards like heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty winds will be possible in the strongest storms. Many areas could see 1-2" by the end of the work week. Highs will start in the upper 80s Monday, then lower some into the mid-80s due to rain and clouds. Tropical Storm Philippe continues moving West over the Central Atlantic. Philippe will diminish in intensity, becoming a depression late this week.
