Another cold front is expected to send temperatures plummeting into the 40s this week.
ORLANDO, Fla. - Central Florida will experience clear skies and the coldest night we've seen in a while. Actual air temperatures from The Villages to Gainesville will be in the upper 30s, with 40s elsewhere. There will still be enough sustained wind to cause quite a wind chill, several degrees below the current air temperatures. No frost is expected on Tuesday morning due to the wind still blowing.
The standing record low temperature for this date in Orlando is 31 degrees from 1901, so we will be nowhere near that. This will be the coldest low temperature for the morning of Dec. 19 since 2000, when it was 44 degrees in the city.

On Tuesday afternoon, there is still a bit of a breeze, making it feel cooler than it actually is. Air temperatures remain in the 50s in most spots for afternoon highs, which is well below average for the time of year. The record coldest high temperature for Dec. 19th is 54 degrees, from 1954. It will be mostly sunny on Tuesday.
BEACHES: Highs will hit in the mid-upper 50s. Surf in the 4-6' range and looks really fun for experienced surfers only. Westerly breezes will continue grooming the incoming Easterly swell, making conditions really nice.
THEME PARKS: Feeling cold and breezy but sun-filled at the attractions on Tuesday! A very nice day overall. Highs hit the upper 50s.
OUTLOOK: It will be a chilly few days with small shower chances returning Wednesday through Friday along the easternmost parts of the state near the I-95 corridor. Winds will shift to the east, which will bring a few light rain sprinkles in from the Atlantic Ocean, but nothing major. Mostly sunny Tuesday, mostly cloudy Wednesday, then back to more sunshine Thursday.
We will be back into the 70s and mainly dry this weekend before a bigger system is on the way around Christmas next week. There appears to be a decent chance for at least some showers, maybe non-severe storms, on Dec. 26 and 27 in Florida. Heads up if you are making some outdoor holiday plans.
Another chance of rain is looming in the data for the Dec. 29 through 31 timeframe in Central Florida. The active pattern shows no signs of going away anytime soon.
