Thousands attend fireworks show at Lake Eola
ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Lake Eola’s 41st Annual Fourth of July Fireworks show going out with a bang! While the fireworks boomed, people were having a blast.
“We having a great time, walking around here walking around eating the good food!” said Avery Odums.
“We want to see the show, see the orchestra playing, it's a nice place to come with the family so that's why we're here,” added Marianny Velasquez.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer said today is about more than just a great show. “We're celebrating the birth of our country but also the men and women of the armed forces who fought for our ability to be out here.”
Orlando Police Chief John Mina said everything went smoothly. “No major incidents, no major arrests, everything's been good. It’s a family atmosphere here so everything's been going real well.”
Officials said more than a hundred thousand people turned out for the celebration.
