(FOX) - A warning for pregnant women to cut down on the sugar. New research says too much sugar could put the child's health at risk.
Harvard researchers say women who consume lots of sugar during pregnancy may increase the risk of asthma for their children.
More than a thousand women were involved in this study.
They found that children of women who consumed the most sugar had a 58-percent higher risk for developing asthma -- than children of women who consumed the least sugar.
Previous studies have suggested that poor diet and obesity were factors in the increase in childhood asthma.
