With Christmas a few days away, people are decorating their trees which are a trademark of the holiday.

Whether you have an existing tree in the closet, or the plan is to purchase one for the novelty of a new tree in your living room, certain areas are known for producing a lot of Christmas trees.

According to the United States Department of Agriculture, Christmas trees are grown commercially on about 16,000 farms across all 50 States in the U.S.

The agency also noted that data from the Census of Agriculture shows that in 2022, the U.S. cut over 14.5 million Christmas trees.

According to the USDA, half of the trees cut in 2022 were grown in two states, Oregon and North Carolina, where growing conditions for trees are good for production of popular species of Christmas trees, including Noble, Douglas, and Fraser firs.

Here are the states that grow the most Christmas trees.
