SpaceX plans to launch a Falcon 9 rocket late Friday, Dec. 20, from Cape Canaveral.

Leaders report the launch of Falcon 9's "Astranis: From One to Many" mission is to a geosynchronous transfer orbit from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at the Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

Officials plan for the 229-minute window to open at 11:15 p.m.

If needed, SpaceX has planned a backup opportunity for a 129-minute window that opens at midnight Sunday, Dec. 22.
