Southbound lanes of Florida Turnpike closing nightly, Sunday through Thursday

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has scheduled full lane closures on southbound Florida’s Turnpike between the Orlando South Interchange (Exit 254) and Osceola Parkway (Exit 249) in Orange County.

This closure is to allow crews to demolish a bridge. To perform this work safely, traffic will be detoured during the following dates and times:  

  • Florida’s Turnpike southbound at Orlando South Interchange (Exit 254), full closure all lanes, 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, October 7 through Thursday, October 11.  
  • Florida’s Turnpike southbound traffic will be detoured to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail, then travel south to Osceola Parkway, then east to return to Florida’s Turnpike southbound.  
  • Florida’s Turnpike southbound traffic (alternate route) will be detoured to Consulate Drive, then travel south to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail, then south to Osceola Parkway, then east to return to Florida’s Turnpike southbound.  
  • US 441/Orange Blossom Trail northbound traffic will be detoured at Consulate Drive, then travel north to Delegates Drive, then south to Principal Row, then east to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail, then south to Osceola Parkway, then east to return to Florida’s Turnpike southbound.  
  • Beachline Expressway westbound traffic to Florida’s Turnpike northbound will be detoured at Landstreet Road, then travel east to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail, then south to Consulate Drive, make a U-Turn, then travel north on US 441/Orange Blossom Trail to Florida’s Turnpike northbound.
  • Beachline Expressway westbound traffic to Florida’s Turnpike southbound will be detoured at Landstreet Road, then travel east to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail, then south to Osceola Parkway, then east to Florida’s Turnpike southbound.  
  • Beachline Expressway eastbound traffic to Florida’s Turnpike southbound will be detoured at Consulate Drive, then travel south to US 441/Orange Blossom Trail, then south to Osceola Parkway, then east to Florida’s Turnpike southbound. 
  • SR 417 northbound traffic to Florida’s Turnpike southbound will be detoured at US 441/Orange Blossom trail, then travel south to Osceola Parkway, then travel east to Florida’s Turnpike southbound.  
  • SR 417 southbound traffic to Florida’s Turnpike southbound will be detoured at Landstar Boulevard, then travel south to Osceola Parkway, then west to Florida’s Turnpike southbound.  

This work is part of the project to widen Florida’s Turnpike from the Beachline Expressway to Osceola Parkway plus add ramps at SR 417. Please note that this schedule may change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions.
