Sinkhole opens on road in DeBary

DEBARY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - A Florida Department of Transportation crew is working to repair a sinkhole in Highway 17-92 just south of Saxon Boulevard. 

The hole in the right lane was first reported late Thursday night. It is approximately 30 feet wide and 5 feet deep, according to FDOT spokesman Steve Olson. 

Olson said the crew will fill the hole and resurface the road with the goal of re-opening the road by late afternoon. 

Late this morning the northbound lanes of Highway 17-92 were closed and traffic was being detoured.
