Shots fired at family's home in Melbourne leaves mother shaken

Melbourne Police are looking for a gunman who fired shots at a home with a small child inside. No one was hurt, but the family is shaken up.

The incident occurred Monday morning on Eleanor Drive in Melbourne.  Homeowner Julie Culberth was dropping one of her kids off at school when she got a call that someone opened fire on her house.

Police say three people, including Culberth's 5-year-old and 18-year-old sons, as well as the 18-year-old's girlfriend were inside at the time of the shooting. Police say at least nine rounds were fired.

Bullet marks are visible on the side of the home and a tire on a car in the driveway was shot out. "I'm a mess," explained a distraught Culberth. "My baby was inside the house. Thank God he's okay."

Police say they are looking for a gold SUV, but other than that, they have very few leads.  Police also do not have a motive nor does Culberth.

According to Florida Today there was another drive-by shooting in Melbourne less than 24 hour before this incident. That shooting happened late Sunday night on Panama Drive. Police are investigating possible connections.
