Man accused of prowling near Sanford neighborhood, exposing himself, police say

The Sanford Police Department has arrested a 22-year-old man accused of peering into homes and exposing himself. Police announced the man's arrest late Wednesday night.

Angel Davis was booked into jail on one charge of indecent exposure of sexual organs, according to Sanford police.

On Dec. 17, police responded to reports of a "prowler' looking into a home near 20th Street and Mellonville Avenue and exposing himself, Sanford police said in a news release. David was arrested on Wednesday after surveillance video helped police identify him, Deputy Chief Trekelle Perkins said in a statement.

"We want our community to feel safe in their homes as we prepare for holiday celebrations. Thank you to our citizens that had surveillance cameras, and quickly came forward to help us identify, and remove this predator from our community," he said.

The police department is investigating other reported incidents over the last week, a spokesperson said. Davis is suspected of being involved in other incidents and additional charges are possible, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sanford police or Crimeline.
