Sanford man arrested for multiple counts of sexual battery on a minor
SANFORD, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - A man was arrested for five counts of sexual battery on a minor, reports the Sanford Police Department.
They say that on October 9th, police arrested Arsenio Evans for multiple counts of sexual battery on a victim 12 years or older with the threat of a deadly weapon.
The Sanford Police Department reports that on September 2nd, investigators were notified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of inappropriate Facebook Messenger activity, indicating sexual activity, possible physical harm, and threats of kidnapping.
After investigating, police say that 28-year-old Arsenio Evans was the person associated with the account. They also discovered tha that the victim lived in a residence near Evans.
Attempts were made to immediately contact the victim, but police say the victim was out of the area and unavailable.
Then, on October 9th, investigators say they were finally able to interview the child victim and discovered that Evans had sexually battered her on multiple occasions. Through the investigation, it was determined that Evans used threats of violence towards the victim or her family and battered her on at least one occasion.
Evans was said to have been arrested on October 9th and charged with five counts of Sexual Battery, Victim 12 Years or Older with Threat of Deadly Force, and one count of Child Abuse.
