3 teens arrested after gun found on Rockledge High School campus, prompting lockdown: Police

Three teenagers have been arrested after Rockledge High School was placed on lockdown.

Police confirmed late Friday afternoon that the school was shut down following a report of a person on campus with a firearm. The incident began around 12:15 p.m., prompting a shelter-in-place order before authorities secured the school. No injuries were reported.

The arrested individuals include a 15-year-old, a 17-year-old, and a 19-year-old. The 19-year-old suspect has been identified as Damien Ffrench.

While police confirmed the discovery of the firearm, details on the specific charges remain unclear.

Parents rushed to the school upon hearing news of the lockdown, anxious for updates. One mother, Erin Smith, described her fear after receiving a call from her daughter, who was barricaded in a classroom during the incident. 

"No kid should come to school scared," she said tearfully.

Students were dismissed safely, but many questions remain about the incident. Authorities continue to investigate, and more information is expected as the situation develops.
