The Ocoee Police Department has released photos of a car believed to be involved in the shooting death of a veteran.

Gregory Reed, 60, was driving his car through a BP convenience store parking lot when he was shot and killed on Thursday at 8:20 p.m., police said. The shooting happened on the northeast corner of Clarke Road and Silver Star Road.

"For someone to hurt this man like they did is wrong. He didn’t deserve that. He deserves to be here today," said Tyrone Scott, Gregory Reed’s Cousin.

Surveillance footage shows Reed driving his car through the BP parking lot before being shot.

The Ocoee Police Department believes this shooting may have been a "random act" as detectives do not believe this was an armed robbery or that the suspect and victim knew each other.

"He was a proud veteran and today of all days on Veterans Day, we need the public’s help," said Ocoee Police Lt. Mireya Iannuzzi. "We desperately want to bring justice to this family. This is just such a violent encounter, seemingly with no explanation and no reason why."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ocoee Police Department at 407-905-3160.
