ORLANDO, Fla. - An investigation is underway after a crash involving a car and an Orlando Fire Department ambulance.
Orlando police say the crash occurred just before 3 a.m. Friday morning at the intersection of Edgewater Dr. and W. Smith St. Police say the fire department rescue unit vehicle crashed into an electrical pole and a business as a result of the impact.
There were three people inside the car. One of them died. Police say two others were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Police say the two firefighters inside the ambulance were not hurt.
The business the ambulance crashed into was the MacBeth Studio.

Larry Jones manages the building it is in. He said the owner is out of town and that the studio has not been inside the building on Edgewater Drive long.
"(I'm) very sad about the death and the two people that are in the hospital," Jones said. "I’m sure there is a lot of grieving going on with the families."
Jones said the intersection where the crash happened is very busy with a lot of traffic. He said it can be dangerous here.
"I am surprised there are not more collisions here," he said.
Edgewater Dr. was closed for hours as police investigated the cause of the crash and cleared the damage. It has since reopened in both directions.
