Woman killed in late-night hit-and-run in Orlando; FHP searching for BMW

ORLANDO, Fla. - A pedestrian was killed in a late-night hit-and-run crash in Orlando on Sunday night, according to Florida Highway Patrol. 

The crash happened at the intersection of West Colonial Drive and Good Homes Road just after 10:30 p.m. 

The pedestrian, a 37-year-old woman from Pine Hills, was walking across the eastbound lanes of Colonial Drive outside a marked crosswalk and was hit by an oncoming car which fled the scene, according to an incident report from FHP. 

"Leaving the scene of a crash that results in property damage, injury, or death is against the law," troopers said. 

The woman was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

Troopers said they found a vehicle part at the scene of the crash. The car could possibly be a dark-colored 2015-2017 BMW 3 Series (320i, 320i X, 328d or 328d X) of an unknown color. The car should have damage to the front left fog light and/or the front left headlight.

A roadblock in the area has since been cleared. 

The crash remains under investigation.
