Palm Bay man, 22, dies after being hit by car, troopers say

The Brief

    • A 22-year-old man from Palm Bay was hit and killed by a car in Brevard County early Monday, according to troopers.
    • The crash happened shortly before 12:30 a.m. at State Road 528 and Courtenay Parkway.
    • The man was wearing dark clothing and the driver stated he did not see him in the road, officials said. 

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. - A 22-year-old Palm Bay man was hit and killed by a car early Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

Troopers said the crash happened around 12:20 a.m. at State Road 528 and Courtenay Parkway. 

Authorities said the man was walking eastbound in the merge lane of Courtenay Parkway when he was struck by a Honda Accord.

The man was wearing dark clothing and the Honda driver said he did not see him in the road, FHP said.

The man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not released.

The Honda driver and passenger were not injured.
