OUC sends workers to Tallahassee as Hurricane Michael approaches
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (FOX 35 WOFL) - The Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC) announced that they will send 21 employees and 17 trucks on a mutual aid mission to Tallahassee on Tuesday in preparation for Hurricane Michael's arrival.
They say that they do not know how long they will be gone for, but that their employees are prepared to work 16 hour days. The crews include damage assessors with expertise in helping prioritize power restoration as well as five three-man line crews.
Hurricane Michael is expected to make landfall in the Florida Panhandle or Big Bend area on Wednesday as a major hurricane.
