Dry air is moving into the region behind Debby as the storm continues its trek up the East Coast

ORLANDO, Fla. - Central Florida will experience the final effects of Tropical Storm Debby on Tuesday night. Clouds and winds associated with Debby will persist overnight, accompanied by very warm tropical air that will keep temperatures in the high 70s to low 80s.

Debby will bring drier air from the Midwest, reducing rain chances on Wednesday and Thursday. However, we will return to the typical Florida August weather pattern by Friday and into the weekend, with widespread afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

TRACKING THE TROPICS:

Debby is expected to continue moving up the East Coast, potentially causing major flooding along the Georgia and Florida coastlines. It is forecast to move back into the Atlantic Ocean, strengthening into a tropical storm before making landfall again on the Carolina coastline.

Looking ahead, there is a 30% chance of a tropical wave forming off the Cuban coastline and moving into Mexico. Current models suggest this system will not impact Florida. The next named storm on the list is Ernesto.
