Hurricane Ernesto could make 'rare' landfall in Bermuda

FOX 35 Storm Team Meteorologist Noah Bergren has your latest forecast, including the latest track for Hurricane Ernesto and updates about a "rare" August cold front hitting the Central Florida region.

Central Florida will see clearing skies, breezy conditions, and lower humidity heading into Friday morning.

A rare summer cold front will bring nearly zero chance of rain in Central Florida on Friday and Saturday, with breezy northeast winds at 10-20 mph. Expect abundant sunshine, minimal cloud cover, and a noticeable humidity drop.

THIS WEEKEND: A great-looking stretch of weather is on the way, just in time for the weekend's start. Temperatures will be less hot and humid, with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s. They will bounce back into the mid-90s on Sunday.

TRACKING THE TROPICS: Hurricane Ernesto is expected to strengthen into a high-end Category 2 or low-end Category 3 storm by Friday. Often brushed by hurricanes, Bermuda faces an increasing chance of a direct hit from Ernesto’s eye late Friday into early Saturday.

This could have major impacts on the island, including significant to extreme rainfall, hurricane-force wind gusts, and 30- to 50-foot surf crashing offshore. A brush by the Canadian Maritimes is possible late in the weekend.

Outside of Ernesto, the tropics are expected to remain quiet for the next week or so.
