ORLANDO, Fla. - Tonight, Central Florida can expect clear skies and chilly temperatures. Lows fall into the 40s, perhaps a few low-mid 50s along the Space Coast. Friday offers a nice weather day with afternoon highs in the 70s under mostly sunny skies.
OUTLOOK: A series of strong systems will bring rain to Florida this weekend and early next week and snow to the Northeast. The pressure systems will be intense enough to drag cold air into our region from the north. The snow headed to Washington, DC, and New York City will lead to a chill in the air as we get into the middle of next week.
Fortunately for farmers and gardeners, this doesn't look like a frost-and-freeze situation as the chilly air mass will moderate when it gets here, but we will likely only see temperatures running about 10° below average for several days. This is typical for Florida winter when the northeast gets hammered by snow. In proper form, as winds veer more east to northeast, our winds will be off the Atlantic, leading to warmer weather.
It's Marathon Weekend at Walt Disney World Resort. It appears any chance of rain that could impact the races will come late morning.
A stronger storm enters the picture late Monday into Tuesday. Severe weather risk looks to rise again on Tuesday.
The FOX 35 Storm Team will gather more information in the coming days and learn more about the rising weather risks early next week. Stay with us through the weekend for the latest!
