Orlando Weather Forecast PM: April 7th, 2025
FOX 35 Storm Team Meteorologist Noah Bergren is tracking a cold front moving by into Tuesday morning and some showers lingering on Wednesday.
ORLANDO, Fla. - A fast-moving line of showers and isolated thunderstorms will push through North Central Florida on Monday night, potentially impacting watch parties and festivities during the early hours of the National Championship game.
Severe weather possible tonight
A few isolated storms could be on the robust side, with heavy downpours and strong winds. The heaviest rainfall is expected between 8 and 11 p.m. near Gainesville, with brief downpours and rumbles of thunder possible. The line is forecast to weaken as it moves southeast, bringing lighter showers to the Orlando area around and just after midnight.
The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) has placed parts of Marion, Sumter, and northwest Flagler counties under a level 1 out 5 risk for for a few of these stronger storms. While chances are low overall, this is where the best ingredients will be if any do get going.
The best chances of rain won't take shape until late tonight and into overnight.
A cold is set to push through Central Florida late tonight and into early Tuesday morning, which will be one of the main driving forces of our rain chances. Areas to the northwest of the I-4 corridor will see the majority of these showers and storms, as this will be a fading cold front that's pushing into the region.
For areas to the southwest of I-4, just a few lingering showers and storms will be able to reach these spots.
What will the weather look like on Tuesday?
Skies will remain mostly cloudy with scattered showers, primarily along the Space Coast and in Osceola County. Temperatures will remain cool, with highs only reaching the 70s across the region.
What will the weather look like later this week?
What to expect:
Sunshine is expected to return Wednesday, although a few showers may drift ashore along the Space Coast in the afternoon. Elsewhere, conditions should stay dry.
Thursday looks to be completely sunny and dry. However, a weak cold front is forecast to arrive Friday evening, bringing a slight chance of rain showers. Temperatures will rise ahead of the front before dropping heading into the weekend.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK: The coldest air of the week will settle in Sunday morning, with lows dipping into the 40s and 50s across Central Florida. Despite the chilly start, the weekend will feature abundant sunshine and comfortable afternoon highs in the mid-70s.
