Orlando Weather Forecast PM: November, 14 2024

FOX 35's Storm Team Meteorologist Laurel Blanchard has your evening forecast and a look into the rest of the work week. Fall is in the air and you will notice much cooler temperatures for the end of the workweek and into the weekend. A cold front moves through tonight, bringing in much cooler and drier air into Central Florida. Temperatures will cool down into the upper 70s for highs and the upper 50s and low 60s for overnight lows on Friday and through the weekend.

It will be mostly clear overnight with temperatures warmer than average in the 60s.

Friday brings mixed clouds and sunshine as a cold front comes across the Florida Peninsula. Humidity values will drop substantially by the evening! Winds switch and come out of the northwest during the latter portion of the day.

WEEKEND AND BEYOND: There will be much lower humidity, and a crisp, sunny weekend. Temperatures will be in the 70s for highs to near 80 with lows in the 50s to near 60 in most spots – closer to 50 degrees in Ocala and Gainesville. It will be a bit warmer Monday and Tuesday next week with humidity returning.

Tracking the Tropics

Tropical Storm Sara is expected to bring major, potentially catastrophic flooding to Honduras and Central America over the next two days, with up to several feet of rain possible. The situation is reminiscent of the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch in the late 1990s, which also brought heavy rainfall and widespread flooding to the region.

By Monday, Sara's remnants are projected to move into the central Gulf of Mexico. As the system merges with a cold front, it could bring rain and gusty winds across the Florida Peninsula on Wednesday, Nov. 20. The severity of the weather, including whether it intensifies into a tropical storm or produces stronger storms, remains uncertain. The track and structure of the system will determine the exact placement and intensity of the rainfall and wind across Florida.

Regardless of the storm’s specific impact, Florida can expect significantly cooler temperatures by the end of next week. Forecasters predict some of the coldest air since last spring, bringing a notable shift in conditions across the state.
