A former security guard has been indicted in the strangling death of a woman who lived in a downtown Orlando apartment building where he worked.

A grand jury Monday indicted 33-year-old Stephen Duxbury on charges of first-degree murder, attempted sexual battery and burglary of a dwelling with assault.

Duxbury worked as a guard at the Uptown Place Apartments where Sasha Samsudean lived. Her body was found in October in her apartment.  Detectives say physical evidence led them to Duxbury. Police officials say the murder was a crime of opportunity.

Court records show Duxbury has entered a written plea of not guilty.
