Orange County lays out vaccine distribution plan

Orange County leaders laid out their plan to distribute the coronavirus vaccine to residents 65 and older.

Orange County residents 65 and older will begin receiving the Moderna vaccine on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings at a news briefing on Monday.

The Moderna vaccine will be given to residents at the Orange County Convention Center with an appointment.

The site will open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Thursday, the convention center will be open for vaccinations for a half day from 8 a.m. until noon. The site will be closed Friday through Sunday for the New Year holiday and reopen on Monday, January 4, at 8 a.m.

Orange County to begin vaccine distribution to 65 and older starting Tuesday

The announcement was made during a news briefing on Monday by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings.

Mayor Demings said in the news conference that the plan is to vaccinate 1,500 Orange County residents a day at the convention center.
