Ocala mother arrested for threatening to shoot up elementary school
OCALA, Fla. (FOX 35 ORLANDO) - A mother in Ocala is accused of threatening to shoot up her children's school.
Melissa Giddens, 28, bonded out of the Marion County jail. Ocala police say a school administrator called police after receiving an angry voicemail from Giddens.
According to investigators, she threatened to shoot up College Park Elementary school during after school hours.
Police say she was angry because one of her three children who attends the school got into trouble.
When they showed up at her home, detectives say she initially denied making the call.
Giddens had already picked up her children and according to police, there was never any real threat to the school.
